1-Methoxy-4-vinylbenzene, as a volatile organic compound released by plants, can simulate the pheromone chemical signals of some lepidopteran and coleopteran insects (such as moths and beetles), regulate insect behaviour by interfering with or enhancing their chemical communication, and is used as a pheromone synergist or trap component in the green control of agricultural pests, especially for the monitoring and control of storage pests and fruit tree pests.
