(E,Z)-5,7-Dodecadien-1-ol is a core component of the female pheromone isolated from important forestry pests such as the gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar). It is mainly used for population monitoring and green prevention and control of gypsy moths, often serving as a highly specific attractant used alone or compounded with trace synergistic components. It can efficiently trap male moths in forest traps, which not only accurately tracks the occurrence dynamics of pests but also reduces the use of chemical pesticides.
