(Z)-4-Undecenal

(Z)-4-Undecenal is an important sex pheromone component isolated from female individuals of lepidopteran insects such as the codling moth (Cydia pomonella); in the application of insect pheromones, it is often used as a core active substance to prepare highly selective lures, which are used for the accurate monitoring of the field population size of target pests. At the same time, it achieves biological control by trapping male insects to disrupt their mating cycle. Compared with traditional light trapping, it has stronger attraction specificity for target pests, and the monitoring error can be reduced by more than 25%.
