Application | Trans-10-dodecenyl acetate is a key component of the sex pheromone in the soybean pod borer (Leguminivora glycinivorella). It is typically blended with dodecenol at mass ratios ranging from 20:1 to 1:20 to form a composite lure, which exhibits high specificity for attracting male moths. This blend enables efficient monitoring of field adult populations, reducing reliance on chemical pesticides and conserving natural enemies. Additionally, its structural analog, (E8,E10)-8,10-Dodecadienol (E8E10-12:OH), serves as the primary active ingredient in the codling moth (Cydia pomonella) sex pheromone. Applied at 0.5–2.0 mg per lure with butyl rubber carriers, it maintains efficacy for up to 2 months. When deployed in bucket traps, it supports large-scale precision control of orchard infestations. |
