(Z,Z)-6,9-Nonadecadien-3-one is often isolated from female individuals of some Noctuidae insects such as Mamestra brassicae, and it is a key female sex pheromone component of these insects; in practical application, it is mostly prepared into specific lures, which are used in combination with traps for population monitoring of target Noctuidae pests, enabling accurate capture of male insects to grasp the occurrence dynamics of pests, and it can also assist in carrying out mating disruption control, reducing the mating success rate by interfering with chemical communication between male and female insects, thereby reducing field pest damage.
