(E,E)-8,10-Dodecadienal is a core sex pheromone component isolated and identified from female adults of the codling moth (Cydia pomonella). In the application of insect pheromones, it is often used as a specific attractant combined with traps for population dynamics monitoring and green control of the codling moth. It can accurately trap male moths to interfere with their mating process and reduce the reproductive capacity of the pest.
