| Application | (Z)-7-Tetradecen-2-one is the primary female sex pheromone component isolated from the oriental beetle (Anomala orientalis), forming a 7:1 mixture with (E)-7-tetradecen-2-one as the insect's sexual attractant. It is widely used in turfgrass and ornamental plant management to control oriental beetles, with microencapsulated spray formulations disrupting mating behavior and reducing trap catches by 87–88% while decreasing larval densities by 68–74%. |
